IND vs BAN ODI: Ishaan Kishan scored the fastest double century in ODIs, left behind many veterans including Chris Gayle-Sehwag
Ishaan Kishan scored his first double-century in ODI career against Bangladesh on Saturday (December 10). This is also the first century of his career. Kishan broke several records during his innings in Chittagong. He became the fastest player to score a double century in ODIs. In this case, he broke the record of former West Indies explosive batsman Chris Gayle. Kishan was dismissed after scoring 210 runs off 131 balls. He hit 24 fours and 10 sixes in his innings. At the same time, experienced Virat Kohli played an inning of 113 runs.
India won the last match of the three ODI series against Bangladesh by 227 runs. This is the biggest win of Team India in ODIs against Bangladesh. He had earlier won against him on 11 April 2003 by 200 runs in Dhaka. In the match, Bangladesh won the toss and decided to bowl first. India scored 409 runs for eight wickets in 50 overs. In response, the Bangladeshi team was reduced to 182 runs in 34 overs.
Kishan ahead of Gayle
Kishan scored his double-century off 126 balls. Talking about Chris Gayle, he played an inning of 215 against Zimbabwe in the 2015 World Cup. Gayle scored a double century off 138 balls in Canberra, Australia. Kishan became the fourth batsman for India to score a double century in ODIs. Before him, Sachin Tendulkar, Virender Sehwag and Rohit Sharma had scored double centuries. Talking about the overall record, he is the seventh batsman in the world to score a double century. This is the ninth double century in ODIs. Rohit Sharma is the only batsman to score more than one double century. He has done this three times.
Ishaan Kishan became the highest run scorer against Bangladesh. He broke the record of Virender Sehwag. Sehwag scored an inning of 175 against Bangladesh in the 2011 World Cup. Kishan also became the fastest batsman to complete 150 runs in ODIs for India during his innings. In this case too, he broke Sehwag's record. Kishan had completed 150 runs off 103 balls. Sehwag had completed 150 off 112 balls in Indore in 2011 against the West Indies. Sehwag scored 219 runs in that innings.

After two years, an opener batsman has scored a century for India. The last century was scored by Rohit Sharma against Australia in January 2020. He played an inning of 119 runs in Bangalore.
