In the FIFA World Cup 2022, the Messi-led Argentina team has reached the semi-finals. In the quarter-finals, Argentina defeated the Netherlands 4–3 in a penalty shootout. For the second time in eight years, Argentina defeated the Netherlands in a penalty shootout in a FIFA World Cup knockout match. What happened in the match?
In the beginning both the teams were playing cautiously. In the 35th minute of the match, Morina scored to give Argentina a 1-0 lead. Argentina's lead was maintained till the first half. After this, Argentina's team got a penalty in the 73rd minute and Messi scored on it to put his team ahead 2-0. Argentina's victory looked certain from here, but Bout Beghorst, who came on the field in the 78th minute, turned the match completely. He scored in the 83rd minute to make it 2-1 and the score remained the same for 90 minutes. After this, in 10 minutes of injury time, he scored a goal in the last minute to make the score 2-2.
