Person Of The Year: Ukraine's President Zelensky selected as 'Person of the Year', Time magazine announce
Ukraine's President Zelensky and 'Spirit of Ukraine' have been chosen by Time magazine as 'Person of the Year 2022'. Time magazine has given Zelensky a place on the cover page in the latest issue. In the midst of the Russia-Ukraine war, Zelensky has stood steadfastly with his country and countrymen for the last 10 months.
Time magazine announced this on 07 December 2022. The award is given to individuals who have made the greatest impact on global events over the past year. According to Time editor-in-chief Edward Felsenthal, "While the fight for Ukraine may terrify or fill with hope, Volodymyr Zelensky has inspired the world in a way we haven't seen in decades." .
He said that this is the biggest and clearest reason for choosing the President of Ukraine for this post. For the past 9-10 months, he has been leading a battle where his opponent is many times bigger than him in strength and firepower, yet Zelensky has managed to keep the morale of his army up. Whatever President Zelensky has said after Russia's attack on Ukraine on February 24 has been an inspiration not only to Ukrainians but to large populations and governments of the whole world.
He was seen representing the celebrations in the streets recently when Ukraine drove Russia out of the southern city of Kherson. It has been said on behalf of Time magazine that Zelensky strongly advocates his country on international forums and keeps his side. Zelensky also recently addressed the G-20 summit in Bali. Apart from this, he has also spoken at the World Economic Forum in Davos and the conference of NATO countries in Madrid. Zelensky has been given this award for the year 2022 jointly with "The Spirit of Ukraine".
