Registration of 4302 farmers in Mau, Stil no crowd at purchase centers, verification of 1281 farmers has been don
The farmers of the district Mau are engaged in the work of harvesting and threshing of paddy on a war footing. Paddy procurement has also started from November 1. Not only this, 4302 farmers have also got themselves registered. Despite this, there is silence in all the purchasing centers of the district. Till now farmers have not been able to reach any purchasing center.
Due to this, sowing of paddy procurement could not even take place. On the other hand, the Deputy RMO is busy motivating the farmers on a war footing. He is doing a thorough investigation by visiting all the purchasing centers. They are also encouraging small farmers to sell their paddy first.
A total of 4302 farmers have been registered in the district so far. There are 1386 farmers in Ghosi Tehsil, 464 in Madhuban, 1628 in Sadar Tehsil and 824 in Muhammadabad Gohna. Out of this, 232 farmers have been verified in Ghosi, 123 in Madhuban, 736 in Sadar and 190 in Muhammadabad Gohna. That is, a total of 1281 farmers can sell their paddy to the purchasing center at any time.
A total of 49 purchasing centers have been set up in the district. From November 1, all the purchasing centers have been opened for purchase. All arrangements have been made for sacks etc. at the purchasing centers. Most of the paddy crop has been destroyed due to floods in Madhuban tehsil. So the farmers here have suffered a lot. The departmental officers are inspecting the purchasing centers and giving necessary directions to the secretaries. During the meeting held in the Collectorate on Thursday, the Deputy RMO also issued a warning.
It was said that no other person should remain in place of the center in-charge at the paddy purchasing center. If he does so, strict action will be taken against him. It also said that small and medium farmers would be given priority in procurement of paddy to avoid distress sale. Verified farmers with 60 quintals or less yield will be given special preference. Now even after four days have passed, no farmer has reached the purchasing center yet.
Right now most of the farmers are harvesting and threshing their crops. Because it is necessary to dry the paddy. So now all the processes are being completed. After meeting some farmers, it came to know that he would reach the purchasing center on Saturday. Paddy procurement may start from tomorrow at some purchasing centers.
